One Family in Faith: Growing Together in Christ
Faith Formation at Our Lady of the Assumption is a lifelong journey — from childhood to adulthood — where we grow in relationship with Jesus, learn the richness of our Catholic tradition, and walk together as disciples in our parish family. Whether you are new to the faith, returning after some time, or seeking to deepen your spiritual life, there is a place for you here.
👨👩👧👦 FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
Partnering with Families to Build a Life of Faith
Parents are the first and most important teachers of the faith. Our programs support families in helping their children grow closer to Christ through age-appropriate sessions, sacramental preparation, and shared experiences of prayer and service.
To enhance the home learning experience, we offer instructional and engaging sessions on Sunday mornings for children in Grades 1–5. These sessions combine learning and fun, and parental involvement is welcomed and encouraged — so we can walk together through these foundational years of faith formation.
📅 Program Schedule
- Elementary (Grades 1–5): Sundays, 10:00–11:00 AM
- Mid-Level (Grades 6–8): Mondays, 7:00–8:00 PM
- High School (Grades 9–10): Mondays, 7:00–8:00 PM
We partner with families to help children:
- Understand our faith
- Experience God’s love
- Prepare for Sacraments
- Live as joyful disciples of Jesus
We also offer seasonal enrichment like Vacation Bible School and special weekend Sunday Children’s Programs to engage young learners.
🔒 Safety, Security and Protection: To ensure greater security while children attend faith formation sessions, extra adults are on hand to monitor the hallways, and identify anyone entering the building. We follow Diocesan Safe Environment policies and have trained adults present at every session to maintain a secure, welcoming environment.
📌 Registration

💠 Children’s Liturgy & Sunday Programs
Helping Young Hearts Experience the Mass
Our Sunday Family Mass at 9:00 AM includes programs that invite little ones to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word, presented in a setting geared to their age.
These programs help young children:
- Hear and understand God’s Word at their level
- Feel included and loved during Mass
- Begin to form a joyful relationship with Jesus and His Church
By helping children feel at home in the liturgy, we plant the seeds of lifelong faith.
🧡 Youth Ministry at OLA
As part of our commitment to forming One Family in Faith, our Youth Ministry welcomes all students in Grades 6–12 to grow in faith, friendship, and service. Through retreats, social events, leadership opportunities, and service projects, youth are invited to explore their faith and live as disciples of Jesus in a supportive, fun, and Christ-centered community.
📘 For Adults
Growing in Faith and Friendship
Faith formation doesn’t end with Confirmation. Adults are invited to grow in their relationship with Christ through:
- Evenings of reflection and spiritual renewal
- Guest speaker events and retreats
- Seasonal opportunities for prayer and learning
- Frequent social opportunities to make connections with other adults.
💬 “Faith formation is not only for children but for adults of all ages.”
Stay tuned for upcoming offerings in our parish bulletin and events calendar.
✝️ RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Curious about the Catholic Faith?
We welcome those who are not Catholic to walk with us to explore the journey of our faith. RCIA is the process through which adults explore the Catholic faith and prepare to become full members of the Church.
We welcome:
- Those who have never been baptized
- Those baptized in another Christian tradition
- Adult preparation for the celebration of Confirmation
- Baptized Catholics who have not yet received First Communion or Confirmation
Those who have not been baptized are prepared to celebrate the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. Candidates raised in another Christian community are invited to full communion in the Roman Catholic Church by celebrating Confirmation and Eucharist.
