Święconka – Polish Blessing of the Baskets
Easter Saturday | 12:00 Noon | La Salle Hall
Celebrate the cherished Polish tradition of Święconka with us this Holy Saturday! Join us for the Blessing of the Baskets, a beautiful Catholic ritual originating in Poland and embraced by many cultures. It’s a meaningful way to prepare for Easter, as we bring baskets filled with symbolic foods to be blessed before Easter Sunday Mass.
Your basket may include:
🥚 Eggs – Symbolizing new life and Christ’s Resurrection
🧈 Butter – Representing the goodness of Christ
🍞 Bread – A reminder of the Eucharist
🥩 Sausage & Meat – Signifying abundance and God’s generosity
🧀 Cheese – Symbolizing moderation and self-control
Families take pride in decorating their baskets with linens, ribbons, and greenery, and children especially love participating in this time-honored tradition.
✨ Bring your baskets to be blessed and join us for this beautiful celebration of faith, renewal, and community!
📍 Location: La Salle Hall
🕛 Time: Saturday at 12:00 Noon
We look forward to celebrating with you! 🙏
